The rise of cellular IoT and 5G networks is predicted to drive the growth of the addressable market for SIM card manufacturers to over 20 billion cellular devices by 2020. Although there are online discussions of 5G features that could optionally result in a different SIM for 5G technologies, I'm not aware of those in widespread deployment or usage yet. It isn’t possible to use Three or another mobile network that uses coverage from Three as they do not offer any 2G coverage.
