About this deal

My favourite feature was how clear and crisp the picture quality was and how wide the camera lens was – it really was brilliant.

It has gone off a few times but this is when I have been too tired to remember to switch it off when I take him out of the cot. There are a lot of options out there and everyone has different opinions on what they’d recommend and there are also a lot of reviews of the different systems available. Parents can rest assured knowing they will only be alerted if no movement is detected after 20 seconds without missing an alert.A second Sensor Pad and Nursery Unit can be added so you can also monitor a second child in another room. The movement sensor is a large plastic pad which sits under the baby’s mattress, monitoring the slightest shift in their movement. I like the fact the screen goes dark until your baby makes a sound and the way the camera tilts, pans and zooms.

I will say there is a bit of a knack to using the touch screen, it’s not as responsive, as say your mobile phone, but this doesn’t really bother me as the camera and thermometer settings are the main features we would use, which are clearly visible from the front screen. If you have any concerns about your own health or the health of your child, you should always consult with a doctor or other healthcare professional. You can also simply enjoy an extra Nursery Unit if you wish to monitor another child’s room or even the playroom. I like that you can add an extra Sensor Pad and nursery unit for use with a second child, this would be particularly valuable if you have multiples or two young children close in age. Our baby was a tummy sleeper from a very young age (he had reflux and for some reason this position was more comfortable for him).

The AC027 will complement the original monitor perfectly by adding movement monitoring on the second mattress to your current setup.our baby also stopped breathing we wouldnt be without it, and she is now 21 wks, we havent had any false alarms but have been told it depends on how active the baby is, but a false alarm is better than no alarm! It’s easy to position if you have the right surface heights or plan to attach the nursery unit camera to a wall.

The monitor allows you to see your baby sleeping via a clear, colour video camera fitted to the Nursery Unit, which you can watch from a battery-powered and rechargeable parent unit in another room. I used it between 3 months ish- when DS went into the cotbed- to 8 months ish when he started causing it to go off while rolling off it. I was worried about the power cable being a chocking hazard, though I know it shouldn't be if you install it correctly. Good baby breathing monitor but it could be better, cables could be longer and it would benefit from a two way walkie talkie so you can talk to your baby.

You could also position the camera looking through the slats of a cot, but we are using a Chicco Next2Me crib so this wasn’t possible – the bedside table was too low for the camera and we had to move the crib next to a chest of drawers. Digital audio, secure video and room temperature reports enable parents to better respond to baby’s needs. According to the angelcare ac1300 we have bought there needs to be a 30cm gap between the two beds so that the sensor doesn't pick up your movements.
