It's a lovely aperitif with tonic and a slice of orange, or it can also be enjoyed on its own with ice - a little like a red vermouth, but not herbaceous.

Resulting from traditional preparation methods and ancestral savoir-faire, Lillet Rouge is the perfect low ABV drink for the aperitif moment. Sip it chilled with frozen orange slices, make a refreshingly simple Lillet Spritz or add its delicate aromatics and touch of sweetness to classic cocktails. A blend of carefully selected wines (Merlot and Cabernot Sauvignon) and fruit and Quinquina infusions, matured in French oak barrels for several months, allowing its aromas to mellow and its characteristic taste to mature. Lillet (pronounced lee-lay), is a French Aperitif made from a blend of wine, liqueurs, fruits and herbs. Lillet is a blend of rigorously selected wines and fruit liqueurs, aged in oak vats for around 12 months, during which it is given the same care as the Grands Crus of Bordeaux. The addition of Merlot adds both the rich, ruby colour and a more tannic texture, giving this refreshing formula even more depth and intrigue. The long connection between the Royal Navy and rum can be traced back to 1655 and Vice-Admiral William Penn's expedition to the West Indies. Produced since 1872 in Podensac, a small picturesque village South of Bordeaux, where a dedicated team of fewer than 10 people take care of the ‘Maison Lillet’ distillery.
