Another one shows up a few minutes later of Nikki and André's breakfast, though it looks like they're sharing it instead of eating their own.After the misunderstanding is cleared up, Brandon and André apologize to Nikki and bury the hatchet between each other. With light themes of crushes on boys, cyber bullying, friendship and doing the right thing, most young girls will relate. Candy Gourlay introduces Wild Song, her companion novel to Bone Talk, in which Luki and Samkad leave their home in the Philippines for America. But I’m starting to realize I’m just not in the mindset of a middle schooler anymore and maybe it’s time I put this series down. Nikki accidentally hurts Brandon's feelings again by hanging out too much with André, leaving him thinking that they have feelings for one another.

It’s been twelve books and Nikki and Brandon have obviously liked each other for all of those books to no avail. Ross Welford introduces Time Travelling with a Tortoise, the sequel to Time Travelling with a Hamster, and a whole new time travel adventure! After he leaves, Nikki decides to read the e-mail she got and it turns out that she made it onto the trip to Paris.I give this book five stars because of it's introduction to new characters to freshen things up, it's constant funny one-liners(ex: the scene where Nikki's Dad messes up the social media names, the line about MacKenzie pulling Nikki's 'hospital plug' for her cell phone battery, etc.

My favorite character was Nikki Maxwell because she was very strong and stuck up for herself when she was bullied. Nikki believes that two certain users, SelfieChic and LuvMyLipGloss are really Tiffany and MacKenzie and thinks they're cyberbullying her to get back at her. Then when Brianna gets a card herself, it involves eating some of Nikki's candy stash, much to Nikki's rage. If I was her age I wouldn't be able to stop myself from emulating Nikki and, really, that's not a bad thing!

Brandon comes by to see what Nikki is up to before school and sees she is having trouble keeping Daisy under control.
