This is the same as every other tutorial available online. Please, share the colours. Give active lessons in that. I think the colours are red, yellow and brown but kind of light. I am not sure but I am guessing by the look of it. But the person who made the tutorial should have still put the name of the colours. Reply The first thing to remember when creating a portrait is the light source. You need to decide what direction the light is coming from in the picture so you can color in your highlights and shadows accordingly. Maybe YOU should shut up and have several seats! There’s no point of making a tutorial if the names are not listed. It is frustrating! Reply

A lot depends on the method of drawing you’re using and what you’re drawing. I use one of two under drawing methods for most of my work. The umber under drawing method is the method I use most because it’s ideal for keeping colors from getting too vibrant with the horses and landscapes I usually draw. I also like the complementary under drawing method for the same reason. If you’re not familiar with those methods, I compared the four methods I use most in an article called Comparing Colored Pencil Drawing Methods. You can also get richly saturated color by drawing just a few layers and using heavier pressure throughout, but I don’t have much experience with this method, so can’t give specific tips. If your paper is very smooth or heavily sized, it’s possible to remove color completely, no matter how carefully you blend.But what makes the Premier Colored Pencils truly shine when it comes to coloring in skin tones is their immense color selection. If you go with the largest 150-count set, you will find over a dozen colors that make for a great starting point when building up your skin tone.
If you compare CYM with BYR colours you can guestimate where each colour sits on the colour wheel. Compared to Blue, Cyan leans more towards the greens which is a cool colour. The other way around: Compared to cyan, the blue we use in BYR leans more to the red. Magenta leans more towards violet and the yellow from CYM leans more towards the green rather than orange, which the yellow in BYR does. I’ll go more in-depth in an upcoming article. Then start in the darkest area of the face. It is always easier to make dark areas even darker afterwards instead of making light areas lighter. For example, if you start in the light area and it turns out to be too dark, it is difficult to touch up with an eraser later. It’s important to remember colours are all relative. Compared to different colours each colour could be warm or cold.
