About this deal

We performed the quality tests on the iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 at its native 3,440 x 1,440 resolution in the default mode, after resetting the OSD, which sets the refresh to 144Hz over a DIsplayPort connection. Our test system was equipped with an AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card, which supports FreeSync, so we enabled that for games testing. Though our benchmarks reveal out-the-box accuracy to be very good – more on that later – VA panel technology does result in visible colour shift from side to side. We don’t notice it when sat front and centre, but wouldn’t recommend this particular model for a super-wide, dual-screen setup. Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio.

All the gamma modes are 0.1 higher than their numbering would suggest. But at least they're consistent. Brightness uniformity is merely so-so, with problem areas along both edges apart from the top left-hand corner. Under OSD settings you can change the position of the OSD and how long it stays onscreen, as well as call up information about the current screen signal input. We always test the display subjectively on the Windows desktop, using it for general tasks such as browsing and word processing, and with games as well, even if the display is not intended solely for that purpose. Have had 0 issues with this monitor. Very happy. only thing to bare in mind is you need to tweak the settings a tiny bit but after that 10/10!!! by JamieInformation about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. A higher resolution allows the display of a more detailed and of higher quality image. The iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 box is quite enticing, depicting a space armour helmet reminiscent of one of the 3DMark tests. Larger, increasingly bright displays typically take a toll on power draw, but for a 34in solution the iiyama can be kept frugal. 24 watts at minimum brightness is very efficient for a screen of this ilk. Colour Uniformity Luminance Uniformity

The next main menu section is Color. Here, you can choose between warm, normal and cool presets, or define your own colour balance via red, green and blue levels. You can also define three levels of blue light reduction beyond Off to give your eyes a rest. There are three gamma presets. The 2.2 one is the default, as expected, but you can also select 1.8 and 2.6. These are quite large steps between the options. Hardly ideal, and difficult to verify seeing as the bug rarely appears, but it is encouraging to learn that iiyama's technical team is working to resolve the matter. In the meantime, let's turn our attention to the benchmarks. If there’s a criticism of iiyama’s simplistic implementation it’s that the perfunctory 2W stereo speakers are particularly basic. Void of definition in either the highs or lows, they serve a purpose for basic notifications, but for gaming or multimedia use you’ll want to employ an external set or a pair of headphones. Ultrawide, Ultrafast The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. The iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 is a bit of an oddity. It's almost unique in offering the 34in ultrawide 21:9 format without being curved. We can't say we really missed it during testing, although we do like the subtle extra immersion a curve provides. Although performance isn't perfect, with colour and brightness uniformity being under par, otherwise this is a good-quality panel capable of high colour accuracy once calibrated, and still good if not. Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. iiyama gets most of the essentials right, but don't expect much in terms of HDR performance. Although technically HDR Ready - iiyama uses an 8-bit panel with dithering to achieve 10-bit colour support - the screen offers neither the brightness nor contrast to deliver a convincing HDR experience. Note also that HDR and FreeSync are mutually exclusive on the GB3461WQSU - enabling one disables the other - and given the choice, we'd take FreeSync every day of the week.
