About this deal

From a conversation with the manufacturer, the following points are my understanding (in my own words)…… With the Pro 3, the rear of the handle has a series of dimples running from top to bottom. It is far more subtle, but does provide texture onto which the fingertips grip.

End rounding of the brush makes the brushing movements gentle. The angled Bristles helps you to clean in between teeth. It has ultra-thin bristles for extra light and gentle cleaning. In my opinion, the 3000 series is probably the best value for money out of the Oral B ranges, if you simply want the most effective cleaning from an Oral B product. Sometimes, “higher” models can be found on offer at reduced prices, which of course is also attractive. If you want bells and whistles, then you can pay more for them, and if you are on a tighter budget, then of course the 2000 series and below should become a more attractive option. The 600 comes in light Blue or Pink whilst the Pro 2 2000 comes in a dark Blue or Pink. Both have gloss white plastic bodies.

Technically at least though, the Pro 3 – 3000 is the superior and arguably ‘better’ toothbrush. However, in practice, the differences are subtle and don’t make the Pro 3 an absolute must buy over the Pro 2. The Pro 2 2900 handles have a larger rubber grip on the front of the handle that the Pro 3900 does not have. If you need more detail on any of the brushes, read on or leave a comment. Brush vs brush comparison posts The N at the end stands for Normal as it comes with the “standard” CrossAction Brush head. There is also a W variety which is Whitening and S which is Sensitive. The letter just represents the Brush Head that it comes with, the electric toothbrush handles are exactly the same. Should I go for the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 or Oral-B Pro 650 electric toothbrush?

In most instances just using an electric brush, twice a day, for 2 minutes each time, with the correct technique and a good toothpaste, your teeth may get whiter. When the handle detects you are brushing with excess force the motor will slow the brush head and the light ring at the top of the handle will illuminate red. When it does, you need to relieve the pressure until the light goes out.

Any good electric toothbrush that cares for your oral hygiene needs to have a two-minute timer. It is an essential feature because almost everyone doesn’t brush for long enough. In fact, the average person typically brushes their teeth for only 45 seconds. This can lead to dental plaque festering on your teeth, ultimately leading to gum disease and tooth decay. While Oral-B has partnered with schemes such as TerraCycle in some countries, it does not yet have its own recycling scheme for used brush heads or faulty products. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500W comes with the whitening brush head, which I am not keen on. The whitening brush head has a rubber cup in the middle of it, which looks similar to a hygienist polishing bur. I think this is too aggressive to use on a daily basis. If you do end up getting the Oral-B Pro 2 2500W, I would recommend purchasing some CrossAction brush heads separately. The Pro 3 3500 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive) of the Pro 2 2500. Very little in it however the Oral-B Pro 3000 edges it by having the sensitive cleaning mode. The Oral-B Pro 2500 and 2000 are identical in performance. 3) Battery Life: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500

Both do a job and give a home to brush heads, but the 9000 is a neater and more desirable solution. A toothbrush with a whitening mode or a whitening brush head is not guaranteed to give whitening results. The 2 year warranty on all these electric toothbrushes can be extended to 3 years if you register online. Verdict: Value for Money

I want to let you know that as differences in electric toothbrushes go, the number here is limited. The 2 brushes are very similar. Specifications and cleaning ability are the same on the variants. What differs is the exact model name, the brush head supplied, the colour of the rubber grip on the handle and the box contents. On the rear of the handle rather than raised plastic ridges, the 3000 has a more subtle dimpled surface. Perfecting your brushing routine, including the brushing time, technique and frequency will bring more positive benefit than any particular toothbrush.
