About this deal

X360 also had a workaround to install an un-official HDD, but Microsoft "fixed" it with a firmware upgrade and made all non-original HDD's obsolete.

A PCIe 4.0 X2 NVMe hard drive. I chose the CH SN530 m.2 2230 which was disassembled by XSX (note that it is not PC SN530, PC SN530 is PCIe3.0 ). This hard drive is an original hard drive built into XSX. If XSS needs to be disassembled and expanded, this hard drive can be said to be a must. Theoretically speaking, any M.2 NVMe 2230 SSD PCIe 4.0 that’s been formatted to New Technology File System (NTFS, proprietary MS formatting for Windows 7 onwards) should work. You’ll also need to make a Xbox OS installer USB as well, in the same style as making a Media Creation Tool for Windows 8.1 and 10 installation on new HDDs and SSDs. sycoreaper said:You clearly didn't read the entire article. In the link to the original article it shows a longer adaptor that accommodates longer M.2 cards. Friendly reminder: XBOX dedicated expansion card, currently only supports Western Digital CH SN530 hard drive. You clearly didn't read the entire article. It's not just the hardware or connection interface, it's also the firmware that is specific to being compatible.

MTTF = Mean Time To Failure based on internal testing using Telcordia stress part testing. MTTF is based on a sample population and is estimated by statistical measurements and acceleration algorithms. MTTF does not predict an individual drive’s reliability and does not constitute a warranty. (Telecordia SR-332, GB, 40°C). The external SSD cards are awesome in terms of plug in ease and knowing it all works........ but the price is god awful atrocious. No thanks. The Western Digital PC SN530 NVMe ™ SSD is designed for a multitude of applications that require both high performance and low power. The device is not only capable of more than three times the read speed over SATA SSDs, but further optimizes the low power consumption level to a mere 5mW.

Western Digital SN530 (Xbox Series X) 1 TB - TechPowerUp

Built on the robust 96 layer 3D NAND architecture and leveraging the NVMe architecture, the IX SN530 introduces high performance Read speeds up to 2,400 MB/s and low power consumption leverages both the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, as well as sophisticated NVMe power management With future-ready, scalable NVMe architecture, the Western Digital PC SN530 NVMe SSD offers both manufacturers and end-users the solution to innovate and expand their computing effectiveness. This NVMe SSD enables greater design flexibility for ultra-thin notebook or tablet designs that require a cost effective, reliable storage device with a small form factor and capacity points up to 1TB 1. The user bought the CFE adapter card from a DSLR/Camera shop since these adapter cards are not available widely in the tech market. A Western Digital CH SN530 SSD that features an NVMe M.2 (2230) protocol was used and equipped to the rear end of the adapter card. You can see that while the adapter card may not have enough space for a full-length SSD since the mounting holes end up short but you could still equip them & use them without issues.dvdwsn said:In the link to the original article it shows a longer adaptor that accommodates longer M.2 cards. I don't see the value in having 20-30 games in the SSD at all times, I maybe play 3-4 at the same time, counting racing and fighting games.

This includes compatibility, setup, purchasing help (what to buy), and all related topics. I really don’t get people complaining about space when you can put the games you’re not playing in cold storage and move them when you want to play them… The issue I want to find out is which sector allocation value is required -> leads into the theoretical max storage of a single internal SSD (around 16TB assuming a 4KB sector size). https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows... So the modder went to work and installed a custom CFExpress card that supports PCIe 4.0 speeds and paired it with the internal SSD of the Xbox Series consoles, the CH SN530 M.2 2230. This SSD is an OEM, PCIe 4 x2 drive that perfectly meets the requirements of the expansion slot.
