About this deal

Looking at the T.R.Robb it appears to be the exact same tool as the old theoben ( .177) pellet sizer I had. It was a reliable asset. Tip out the pellets, removing any bits clinging to the pellets themselves. Place a small amount — say 200 .22 calibre or 300 .177 calibre — into a freezer bag and add 50ml of warm water and two drops of washing-up liquid. Can collect about 300 pellets. If you take the bottom plate off, will fit firmly into a tin so you can size the pellets directly into the tin.

You can grade the extra loose or tighter ones in batches and keep the best for the more serious shooting. Clean your barrel once with JB Bore Compound and then do not clean it again. Never oil it – just shoot it. In the 1990s the company was bought by Sheffield-based Walden Engineering to become Walden Sizer Ltd. Since then the company has thrived in Sheffield, with support from firstly OSL Group Ltd and now the Newburgh Group. From my experience shooting air rifles there area few kinds of pellet that stand above the rest in terms of performance, power and quality of manufacture. Bear in mind that pellets will behave differently in different rifles, even those of the same brand and model. So this is just a guide to what works well in my experience, and for the people I have shot alongside. Recommended: Air Arms Field Napier also suggests adding a few drops to a tin of pellets and agitating them. I tested some differing styles of .177 and .22 pellets — here are the results. Velocity/ Energy Each pellet and calibre of pellet will have an average weight measured in grains. The idea is to weigh each pellet and reject those that are “outliers” and fall outside the limits of the mean weight. If say a .177 pellet weighs 8.6-gr, a plus or minus weight of 0.2-gr will not make much difference to velocity or accuracy. You are looking to reject the 0.5-gr-plus oddities. shaving small amount of the skirt to force the pell out of the other end of a sizer, could only work if…….

Pellet collector for pellet sizers. Please note that the pellet sizer is NOT included, it has to be bought separately from UK Neil or other manufacturers. The more you use the sizer then the more skilled you will become in using and feeling what is correct. If required you can adjust the secondary adjusters that are either side of the main adjuster. These two screws have a much shorter travel but if you do adjust them make sure they are level, then use a small drop of paint on the thead and body so that the setting does not alter.

These pellets are not going to be that suitable for pest control or anything at long range but for the money I think they make a welcome addition to anyone’s arsenal and save you wasting you more expensive pellets when zeroing up. Other flatheads to consider : RWS Hobby, H&N Finale Match Light , RWS R10 Match Recommended: Crosman Piranha Our pellet sizer has an adjustable stop that goes through the centre of thesizerbody, the sizer has a tapered bore. To use the sizer just drop a pellet into the larger hole at the bottom and push the pellet (with the pusher supplied) until it reaches the stop. By unscrewing the adjuster it will make the pellets smaller, while screwing it in will make the pellets larger, this is when the pellet is pushed to the stop with the brass pusher. the pellet could be placed in exactly the same angle every time and the pressure curve applied in exactly the same way every time. TbT Pellet Sizers and Pellet Seating Tool[/QUOTE] http://www.airrifletuning.com/products/tbt-pellet-sizers/embed/ I have a Gempro 250 which I weighed these head sorted pellet with. My weights ranged from 13.2 grs to 13.6 grs with the majority being 13.4 grs giving a .2 grain plus or minus tolerence which again I thought was pretty tight?

Premium brands like JSB and H&N (and others) pay great attention to how each pellet comes off the assembly line, especially with their match ammo. On the other hand, more budget-friendly brands allow for a bit more slop in their ammo. This is why, and this happens quite a bit with big-box ammo, you can have one tin that shoots pretty decently and then the next shoot terribly. Or, have wide variances within the same tin. I haven't done near as much testing as I would like yet but wanted to share what little testing Ive done. Now you can have it with the ComBrella shade that can hold a Combro chrony and connects with a bayonet to the barrel weight, keeping the chrony on its place, aligned with the barrel and protecting it from the sunlight.
