Heat Resistant Sealant Vitcas ® Heat Resistant Sealant is used for fixing and sealing gaps in ceramics, glass, metal and other silicate materials. Ideal for high temp applications such as sealing connections between single skin flue pipes and can be used outside on the Flashing.

It was fitted a few months ago in our holiday home in Rhu, Scotland, which is a large open plan conversion in a Victorian house. Designed for safe installation and jointing of concrete flue liners in domestic fireplaces and stoves, etc. Available from trade trusted brands, there is a wide range of heat resistant sealants, including Intumescent mastics available. Apply sealant in the joint by repeatedly and evenly pressing on gun trigger and smoothly dragging the nozzle along the joint.

As the result of heating, the mass will turn dark grey, extra hard and withstands temperatures of up to 1500ᵒC. This ready mixed sealing compound is water based, non-toxic, produced from natural mineral products and does not contain hydrocarbon resins or solvents.

Heat resistant silicone can be used in horizontal and vertical joints between walls, floors and ceilings helping to secure a tight seal. Once applied, gently heat dry the repaired surfaces, gradually raising the heat to full operating temperature over 3-4 hours. Some mention it's a good product, perfect for the job, and easy to apply, while others say that it'd useless for the task they needed it for. The Hobbit is perfect - not only does it fit very snugly, but it looks fantastic and the blue door complements the tiles very nicely. The material will set at room temperatures but the time will be reduced by applying heat, gradually increasing over a four hour period.
